The challenge

More and more people find themselves in a difficult economic situation, pushing many to the streets. Indeed from 2010 to 2020 the European Union recorded an increase of 70% and with the catastrophic impact of covid on the economy it is difficult to see these figures drop. Not only that, but also with natural disasters such as the floods that took place this summer in the south of the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany, tens of thousands of people were left without a roof for the night. In this context it is urgent to find a solution to poor housing. The existing offerings are not efficient and shelters for homeless people are overcrowded.

The solution

In this context of difficulty of access to housing for hundreds of thousands of people in Europe, Shelter offers itself as a solution. Shelter's mission is to connect public agencies but also generous individuals, ready to provide shelter, in relation with people in need. Thanks to the application the person in distress can see all the possibilities of refuge in the surroundings and how to get there. Shelter aims to be the concrete solution to housing difficulties.
