The challenge

- SUSTAINABILITY (food waste) Reducing the need for the production of animal feed and thus reducing environmental footprint and the high volume of food waste. The animal food is often non diverse, and therefore unhealthy. So much food gets thrown away due to incapability to precisely estimate a consumable amount. Many articles state it is unsustainable how restaurants, households and supermarkets throw away unspoiled food when there is an animal that could eat it. Living in the countryside, I witnessed people giving away their old leftovers to ducks and farm animals. Reading about the unsustainability of animal feed, I got inspired.

The solution

Animo is like ToGoodToGo but for animals Collected food waste transformed into a healthy food source for animals. Food related businesses can offer their unconsumed food to animal owners/farmers at much lower price than that of ordinary animal feed products. - Providing a solutionto farmers in regards to the regulations imposed by the Dutch government and European commission (reducing co2, new food regulations animals)
